'The Chaos' is the Futureheads' fourth album, their first in two years, and is much heavier than its predecessors. Although the band's trademark angular indie-rock sound is still evident, the album uses much more distortion than earlier Futureheads work. This gives 'The Chaos' a 90s alternative sound, that recalls Blink 182 or early Weezer in places. The first single from the album was 'Struck Dumb', which is an example of a more classic Futureheads sound.
