Miami, Florida rock quartet Atom Smash are no strangers to hard work. Since their inauguration back in 2008 they've already endured so much, including being both picked up and dropped by a large label and spending countless days pounding the pavement, gigging across the United States and elsewhere. That said their forthcoming album, Beautiful Alien (out March 20th), comes at the same price… through the proverbial blood, sweat and tears.

Beautiful Alien was for the most part, engineered, produced and mixed by the band themselves. While they did get help from producer Paul Trust for three of the songs, including the first single "The World is Ours", the band did this DIY and literally in a garage. As a result the new album holds no gimmicks nor is it pretentious or over-produced. It's rock and roll, plain and simple. Being on their own certainly worked out for the group as this, their newest offering, is their strongest to date.
