The Silence Broken is a five-piece alternative metal group from the city of
Rochester, NY. Formed in the summer of 2006 from the remains for former
local acts Blindingshade and Black Alchemy, the band has sustained several
line-up changes. Most notably, the band parted ways with Matt Askins in
January of 2009 when he joined metalcore oufit Until I Rise. The remaining
members held auditions while working on new material until Nik Humphreys,
formerly of Without Jade, filled the position in October 2009. The Silence
Broken's debut full-length album entitled "In Search of Hope" was released
on September 24th.

The Silence Broken is a five-piece alternative metal group from the city of Rochester, NY. Formed in the summer of 2006 from the remains for former local acts Blindingshade and Black Alchemy, the band has sustained several line-up changes. Most notably, the band parted ways with Matt Askins in January of 2009 and Nik Humphreys, formerly of Without Jade, filled the position in October 2009.

The band has completed their debut album, entitled “In Search of Hope”. The album will be released on September 24th, 2011, featuring the band’s single “Poor Carmine”. The band has already begun working on material for the follow-up album, due in early 2012.
