"Grasscut return with the follow-up to their
2010 debut album ‘1 Inch: 1/2 Mile’ The
legendary Robert Wyatt and Gazelle Twin
feature on ‘Unearth’, alongside main vocals
from Grasscut composer, producer and
multiinstrumentalist Andrew Phillips.
Grasscut’s Marcus O’Dair features on double
bass and Seb Rochford of Polar Bear guests on
drums. Ten double-exposed pinhole photographs
by acclaimed photographer Will Cooper Mitchell
form the album artwork. There is also a
‘Shadow’ version of ‘Unearth’, comprising
alternative versions of each of the ten
tracks. Each track’s alternate version
currently exists only on a single cassette,
which has been concealed (with Walkman and
headphones) in a box at each location around
the country. Grasscut invite those of a
curious and / or dogged disposition to track
down any or all of the boxes, following video
directions and Twitter clues, with the
prospect of enticing rewards."
