The Cure 回歸歌壇送上全新專輯【Songs Of A Lost World】，距離上次的【4:13 Dream】已過了16年之久。詞曲創作、編曲和製作全由Robert Smith一手掌控，這是他自1985年的作品【The Head On The Door】以來，第二次完全包辦的創作，同時老搭檔Paul Corkett (Björk、Suede、Nick Cave)前來協助製作和混音。曾加入David Bowie的前樂團Tin Machine吉他手Reeves Gabrels首度亮相，正式入席The Cure團員，迎來鍵盤手Roger O`Donnell回歸，雖然另一位鍵盤手Perry Bamonte在巡演期間重新加入樂團，但並未參與錄製工作。延續The Cure擅長的黑暗浪漫風格，Robert Smith表示：「這些作品是在經歷數年內心掙扎後所誕生，我將專輯視為一種情緒和藝術重生，讓樂迷能以不同方式沉浸在這部失落世界的歌曲中。」
