1989 年在爱尔兰利默里克成立的摇滚乐队，成员包括主唱桃乐丝?奥里奥丹 (Dolores O'Riordan)、吉他手 Noel Hogan、贝斯手 Mike Hogan 和鼓手 Fergal Lawler。乐队全球唱片销量超 4000 万张，与 U2、Enya 并称 "爱尔兰国宝级艺人"。
《No Need to Argue》获 Juno 奖 "最畅销专辑"，多次获格莱美提名，专辑《Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?》在 Billboard 停留两年。

对中国影响：王菲翻唱《Dreams》(《梦中人》) 成为《重庆森林》主题曲；《Dying in the Sun》被央视用作世界杯背景音乐；其音乐风格影响了包括王菲在内的多位华语歌手，是 80、90 后青春记忆的重要组成部分。
