This situation lead Clint Sutton to write and record a bunch of uniquely focused and undiluted pop rock, staying true to a vision born of dissatisfaction with prior musical experiences. First a drummer, Clint taught himself a bit of guitar, enough to write the kind of songs that felt true to him. Modern technology allowed him to record them at home, playing, singing and recording everything on his own. The result is Sutton's self-titled debut record, 11 songs of big-guitar pop with lots of harmonies, kinda-sloppy solos and melodies strong enough to force their way in, but sweet enough not to wear out their welcome. Fans of Matthew Sweet, Superdrag, the Posies and Teenage Fanclub will understand.
