[size=3][color=sienna][b]I Am Responsible is the sophomore release from Gothenburg 's Ef, after the critically acclaimed Give Me Beauty...Or Give Me Death. Although the band's credo of "explosions, emotions, and energy" still rings true on Responsible, the music has a much matured sound in comparison to their previous recording. Undoubtedly the solidification of the band's lineup and approaching the album as a whole entity buffs out the weak spots that often hinder debuts from shining to their full potential, since they are often "merely a collection of tracks" rather then a full conceptual realization. Compositions and arrangements here are more patient, vocals more tasteful than before, and everything combines to be just precisely beautiful and ultimately refined. The delicate balance of styles found in Ef's work is becoming a trademark sound as they forge their own identity amongst the ever growing Scandinavian musical scene, and hopefully someday soon they'll have a much larger audience. Highly recommended for fans of Sigur Ros, Gregor Samsa, Immanu El.[/b][/color][/size]
