Nhojj's brand of elegant smooth Soul/Jazz/Reggae mix earned the #1 position on the Myspace Neo-Soul, Fusion, Nu-Jazz, Healing, Gospel and Easy listening Indie Artist NY Charts, where he stayed for a total of 25 weeks. Logo Magazine describes his voice as "Honeyed, Subdued and unadorned combination of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye" while the Windy City Times says "Acoustic Soul Music with a Message." His '01 debut, "I've Been Waiting for You," was featured at the 2002 International Fringe Festival in the Award-winning play - "The Making of the Black Man." His '03 sophomore, "Someday Peace, Love & Freedom" won the Best Male Performance at the Fresh Fruit Festival, and garnered the Best Male Recording Nomination at the '04 Outmusic Awards. That year he also released "An Intimate Evening with Nhojj" DVD filmed by Emmy-nominated Director Bill Cote. His '05 release "John Martinborough Coming Home" took him to 26 cities around the world for a 5 month long tour.
