[size=3][color=sienna][b]Jessy De Smet, whose stage name is just Jessy (born July 8, 1976 in Zottegem), is a Belgian dance music singer who had several gold records in the late 1990s and 2000s.

Jessy De Smet first sang with The Mackenzie (Ft. Jessy). They had big hits with "Innocence", "All I Need" "Alive, ..." and won a Belgian TMF Award for Best Album of 1999 with Angel. After her Mackenzie period she went solo. Her debut solo song, "Look @ Me Now", became a big hit and launched Jessy into the UK and Spain markets.

Her first solo album Rain did well in Belgium and also got a Canadian and American release. She released hits as "How Long", "Silent Tears" and "Head over heels". "How Long" was also released in America. At the end of 2004, Jessy released her first ballad single "Dancing In The Dark" in Belgium. It became a small hit, although nothing compared to the success of her dance tracks.
