Masta Ace是来自传奇Old School Rap八人大团体Juice Crew的主力MC，不过在他加入Juice Crew之前，Masta Ace就已经十分了得。原名Duval Clear的Masta Ace来自说唱乐的圣地布鲁克林，像所有的天才MC一样，Masta Ace的才气来自他的幼年时光。1988年，人们在俱乐部的舞台上发现了这个手握麦克风的少年，他的表演赋有韵律，人们随着他一起欢跳，于是Juice Crew选择了Masta Ace。同年，乐团在Motown的说唱分厂Cold Chillin'唱片公司发行了着名的单曲《The Symphony》，并且或得了极大的成功。也正是在之后的第二年，1990年，这个Old School Rap主力厂牌为Masta Ace制作了他的首张个人专辑《Take a Look Around》，其中的内容则记录了Masta Ace是如何从一个无名小卒成为一个说唱明星。

　　陆续在Delicious Vinyl发行了两张唱片之后，Masta Ace沉寂了长达五年的时间，这期间，他一直在地下活动以及随Juice Crew进行表演；并且后来，他又组成了三人小组Masta Ace Incorporated，当然这个组合只是活跃在演出场所。直到2001年的全新专辑《Disposable Arts》的发行，Masta Ace在此时已经成了个追逐时代的Gangsta。他的在专辑中战时了自己的MC才华和音乐制作本领，而大量好友的助阵依稀还有黄金世纪的影子，但是在Masta Ace的HIP HOP宝典中，已经没有了过去，他在找寻新的自己。
