Signed to Legion Records, Eugene Francis Junior released his
debut offering 揟he Golden Beatle?in the Summer. I kind of
dismissed it at the time as easy listening, time was tight
through the festival season!!!
Now that the leaves are falling so am I for this record.
Tracks such as 揑抦 Maculate? with it抯 weeping guitars over
simple percussion moves me. There is a lot of Chris Martin in
the vocal throughout - indeed 揗istakes I Have Made?would not
be out of place on an early Coldplay offering. What really
drew me to this guy though was 揔ites? It抯 another one of
those songs that抯 simplistic in it抯 construction, yet boy do
I wish I had of written it!!! Lyrically it proves he is a real
talent plus the layered harmonies totally work. Eugene has a
new single released on 24th November available on iTunes and
via Legion Records entitled 揌obo Occupation? and it抯 again
vocally and lyrically fantastic. I have the remixed version to
share with you. He is heading out on tour with both Todd
Rundgren and no less than Coldplay! I feel if you are
attending any of these shows you could do a lot worse than put
down that drink and check him out live!!
