Notes:
Adjiri Odametey is a multi-instrumentalist and singer from Ghana. He is a brilliant life performer with stacks of charisma. His life is a prime demonstration of the wonders of cultural collision. The exposure to both traditional African and modern Western values provided a rich background on which he founded his unique musical talents. His music bridges the gap to Africa for Western World listeners. Adjiri Odametey’s artistic roots lie in the traditions of his homeland Ghana. Born and raised in the capital city Accra, he performed in such renowned groups as the Pan African Orchestra or the Ghana Dance Ballet. He has toured in Japan, Russia and Alaska. “He is a musical all-round talent, something like an African Hans-Jürgen Buchner or one of the Well Brothers. Even when it may not be so easy for a German, one should remember this name,” said the Süddeutsche Zeitung about Adjiri Odametey. Südwest Presse (Stuttgart): “The musician Adjiri Odametey fascinated ... through his breathtaking bridging between the roots of original African rhythms and popular world music.”
