[b][color=Navy] 《21st Century Breakdown》的制作前后加起来超过三年，这张朋克歌剧风格的专辑采用叙事体裁，记录了一对年轻夫妇的生活，整个故事共分为三幕，包括“英雄与骗局”、“骗子与圣者”及“马靴与手榴弹”。从结构上来看，这张专辑似乎野心勃勃，在录制完第一幕和第二幕的一半后，Armstrong表示他们互相对视，承认这确实很难，不过有趣的是他们最耗费体力的这张专辑不是在身体强壮的19岁录制的，而是在逐渐发福的30岁过半。
Armstrong说，这张专辑最大的挑战在于既要唱得很有功底，同时又要让人感觉这是一气呵成的。[/color][/b]
