Richards <SPAN class=mw-formatted-date title=1972-04-30><SPAN class=mw-formatted-date title=04-30>April 30</SPAN>, 1972</SPAN> in Santa Barbara, California)<SUP id=cite_ref-0 class=reference><FONT size=2><SPAN>[</SPAN>1<SPAN>]</SPAN></FONT></SUP> is the lead singer for alternative rock band Dishwalla. He has appeared in the films <I>Almost Anything</I>, <I>2:13</I> and <I>Morning</I> (which he also scored) and he guest starred on <I>Charmed</I> as himself. Richards also sang the title role in a concert production of <I>Jesus Christ Superstar</I> with the Golden State Pops Orchestra. Dishwalla had a #1 hit in 1996 with the Richards-penned "Counting Blue Cars," famous for it's "tell me all your thoughts on God/'cause I'd really like to meet Her" refrain. His band has gone on to produce four other albums, including the 2002 hit, Opaline. He has one child with his wife, Shannon.</STRONG></FONT></P>
