<P><FONT face=Verdana><FONT size=2>1994年貝克一口氣推出了大異其趣而各自精彩的三張專輯，其中早在《Mellow Gold》之前便錄製完成的第二彈《One Foot in the Grave》，由Beat Happening吉他手／主唱、K Records老闆Calvin Johnson親自操刀並參與演奏，彷彿將《Mellow Gold》、《Odelay》中的鄉村民謠和藍調成分淬煉出來，真摯而粗獷的低傳真質感，混雜著Bob Dylan、Pavement、Yo La Tengo和Sonic Youth的經典氣息。絕版多年的《One Foot in the Grave》由貝克購回版權重新面市，並超值追加了《Mellow Gold》、《Sea Change》等專輯中13首珍稀曲目，當年尚未因〈Loser〉嚐到成功滋味的貝克，還只是個潦倒不得志的困頓青年，《One Foot in the Grave》除了其歌詞中總是陰魂不散的鬼怪和死亡題材外，也悠悠說著未竟的夢想和無疾而終的戀情，少了點往後作品的諷刺色彩，樸質吉他聲線裡那種原始真切的動人情感，可能在貝克至今最感性的作品《Sea Change》裡也找不到！</FONT></FONT><FONT face=Verdana><FONT size=2></P>
