<P><FONT color=black><STRONG>Benjamin Newburn is a christian artist from the Midwest. Writing songs has been a part of his life ever since the time he realized it was something he was able and enjoyed doing. “I believe there are plenty of quality christian artists out there, what is really needed is more quality worship songs and artists.” said Newburn. “I have always strived for excellence, I most definielty have fallen short of what I was striving for, but it’s a learning process. In my opinion there is no better use of music than to use it to glorify God, and if I’m writing something for the creator of the universe, what excuse do I have to not give it my all? I don’t worry too much about about what style I am going for or doing something that has never been done, my main concern is doing something well, capturing an emotion. But I do try to write music that isn’t generic or thrown together. As a writer you have to throw out a lot of mediocre ideas to hopefully find some that are worth anyone’s time. At the end of the day I have to just write what I like, and hopefully others will get something from it as well.” </STRONG></FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=black><BR><STRONG>Newburn sings about about a range of topics concerning himself and God. “When I write I try to just be honest and sing about what is really going on at that moment with me and God. That may mean expressing doubt, pain or regret, but it also means expressing gratitude, hope and love.”<BR>‘Where You Are’ is Newburn’s debut release. “I basically wrote it as a practice album. I said ‘Hey, if I’m gonna write music for the rest of my life I should probably start somewhere,’ my main goal was to learn from it so that I could continue to improve.” The album features eleven original tracks as well as an arrangement of the Doxology. It was released May 30, 2009. Benjamin Newburn was 22 at the time of the release.</STRONG></FONT></P>
