<P align=left><STRONG><FONT color=black>Surrogate</FONT><FONT color=black> is a two-man band from Chico, California featuring multi-instrumentalist Chris Keene and drummer Jordan Mallory, former members of Number One Gun. They signed to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007 and released their début album, <I>Love Is for the Rich</I>, on <SPAN class=mw-formatted-date title=2007-08-28><SPAN class=mw-formatted-date title=08-28>August 28</SPAN>, 2007</SPAN>.</FONT></STRONG></P>
<P><FONT color=black><STRONG>Once Number One Gun disbanded in late 2005, Chris Keene, dissatisfied with what he calls the "wall of sound, constantly overdriven"<SUP id=cite_ref-0 class=reference><FONT size=2><SPAN>[</SPAN>1<SPAN>]</SPAN></FONT></SUP> style, decided to take on a whole new musical genre. He played some songs for Mallory, who liked them and decided to record some demos with Keene; thus forming Surrogate. The demos were then played for Jonathan Dunn, Tooth & Nail artists and repertoire man, who signed them to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007</STRONG></FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=black><STRONG>The band's sophomore album, <I>Popular Mechanics</I>, is set to be released on July 14th, 2009 on Tooth & Nail Records.</STRONG></FONT></P>
