<P><FONT color=black><STRONG>The Vals are a rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, consisting of Paul Doherty, Owen Duffy, Marty Malone (formerly of Tin Pot Operation), Ronnie Cartwright and Matt Rice. </STRONG></FONT><FONT color=black><STRONG>Formed in 2005, the band recorded a 30-minute acoustic session for NVTV programme <I>Kick Out the Jams</I>. Tracks from their album <I>For the Soulful</I> received airplay on radio, both local and outside of their home country. </STRONG></FONT><FONT color=black><STRONG>In June 2008 the band recorded a live session for BBC Radio 1, including the songs "Yesterday Today", "Light Shines Down" and "With You".</STRONG></FONT><FONT color=black><STRONG>The Vals have signed with Electrique Mud, a subsidiary of Unique Records. The first single, "Yesterday Today" (With artwork by Stefan Duerr) was released on 28 February 2009, followed by "With You" in April. The band then embarked on a short European tour, playing the summer festival circuit, before the release of debut album "Sticks and Stones" on 5 October 2009.</STRONG></FONT></P>
