傳記電影《The United States vs. Billie Holiday》聚焦Billie Holiday 生前最後時光，反映她藥物成癮和多段情愛關係。當時她被聯邦麻醉藥品管理局（Federal Bureau of Narcotics, FBN）盯上，並與領導秘密行動的黑人聯邦特工Jimmy Fletcher 陷入熱戀。

飾演Billie Holiday 的Andra Day 本身也是創作型歌手、演員，曾入圍2016年葛萊美獎最佳節奏藍調專輯，並以〈Rise Up〉入圍最佳節奏藍調演出。
