已经有两年没有在美国展开巡演的John Mayer准备在今年4月重新开展全新一轮的巡演，此举也将是为了配合他的第五张录音室专辑《Born and Raised》的发行。前不久，Mayer在自己的Tumblr上发布了新单曲《Shadow Days》的60秒抢听版，而全曲也将在当地时间2月27日子电台首播。
与此同时，Mayer还公布了新专辑《Born And Raised》的一些具体相关信息。专辑将由Mayer和曾与Rolling Stones、B.B.King等艺人合作的制作人Don Was共同制作，专辑的同名主打歌《Born And Raised》还会收录David Crosby和Graham Nash的和声，并声称“优雅而和谐的人声”是这首歌的最大卖点。
目前，这张专辑的具体发行时间尚未确定，不过外媒推测将于5月6日、新巡演告一段落之后再发行，而这次Mayer的巡演将从印第安纳州的布鲁明顿出发，并途径18个美国城市，他的巡演乐队成员包括Chuck Leavell（曾与Eric Clapton和Rolling Stones等大牌乐队合作过的资深键盘手）、以及此前合作过的鼓手Aaron Sterling和贝司手Sean Hurley。
