驕傲的帝王（姜文飾）為解救被魔咒附身的女兒圖蘭朵（關曉彤飾），遍尋天下能人破局。自小流浪到汗國的孤兒卡拉夫（狄倫·斯普羅斯飾）與公主相遇並互相傾慕。因同情圖蘭朵的痛苦境遇，卡拉夫不惜以性命為代價解救心上人，然而卻不知那魔咒與自己神秘的身世密切有關。此時的帝國王室因為魔咒掀起一場腥風血雨，嗜殺的將軍（胡軍飾）欲憑藉三色鐲的力量謀權，君臣傾軋一觸即發。每個人都面臨著艱難選擇，幾方勢力因為末日魔咒逐漸捲進了旋渦中心。
