The Brahms receives a great performance from Weithaas, Hornung, and Manze, commanding and assertive without being overbearing. Musicianship is the key word here. Rather than take apart each movement, I will simply say that tempos are ideal, completely natural. This disc is superb in every way, thoroughly recommended.
