《汪汪夢裡人》是西班牙導演 Pablo Berger 的首部動畫電影，故事改編自美國作家 Sara Varon 的同名繪本圖文小說。如同小說一樣，電影裡沒有半句對白，小狗與機械人無法以語言溝通，只能透過陪伴來表達對彼此的感情。《汪汪夢裡人》的故事背景設在八十年代紐約，電影非常細緻地描繪了街道上的每處細節，並加入了許多流行文化符號和配上美國樂隊 Earth, Wind & Fire 膾炙人口的經典金曲〈September〉，重現了八十年代的懷舊紐約風情。
