Swing Out Sister-回归复古爵
80年代晚期成军的英国新浪潮乐队Swing Out Sister （摇摆姐妹），在90年代前半段红透欧洲乐坛。但是之后便陷入沉寂，出版的几张专辑都没有得到乐评和市场的承认。乐队转而到日本发展，受到日本乐迷的大力追捧。2004年，在欧洲乐坛消失多年的SOS重新发力，出版新专辑Where Our Love Grows (我们的爱情在这里生长）。
这张专辑里面，SOS抛弃了原来流行摇滚的风格，转向比较复古的Big Band Jazz （大乐团爵士）。乐队大量使用管乐和人声合唱，让听众有回到上个世纪40年代的感觉。专辑第一首歌曲“Love Won't Let You down" 便是这种风格的完美体现。主唱Corinne Drewry的醇美声线给这首作品带来了活力。专辑同名曲Where Our Love Grows则以类似曼西尼60年代的电影配乐风格的前奏开头，带有一点巴西舞曲的摇摆。这首作品是比较贴近SOS早年风格的，但是在宏大管弦乐和背景和声的衬托下，依旧是一幅怀旧复古的情怀。接下去的几首作品则基本上是各类爵士风格的融合，Corinne的声音若有若无的漂浮在精巧的器乐上面。很明显，SOS正在努力向纯正的爵士乐队走近。
AllMusic.com对这张专辑的评价并不高。事实上自从新浪潮音乐（代表人物是Duran Duran)在欧洲失宠之后，SOS就失去了其赖以生存的优雅流行风格，所幸在世界各地还是有一批他们的忠实乐迷，为SOS的重出江湖摇旗呐喊。但是我们不得不承认在流行摇滚和节奏布鲁斯盛行的当今乐坛，SOS可以发展的空间已经很小了。
我个人一直都比较推崇Swing Out Sister的音乐。从他们早年的流行舞曲风格的“Somewhere Out the World"，一直到现在的"Where Our Love Grows"。Corinne和她的朋友们始终坚持自己的音乐理念，不为周围的流行浪潮所影响，这点是非常可贵的。
