东方神起2008年在日本发行的四张单曲，全部成为Oricon 周榜冠军，创下海外艺人的新纪录。他们也首次获邀出席2008年的红白大赛，足证他们在日本的受欢迎程度。
2009年东方神起的首炮单曲「Bolero」，被起用为中日韩合作的电影《昴》的主题曲。歌曲根据西班牙的舞曲Bolero而创作的ballad，充满古典味，同时也表现出五子完美的合音。至于「Kiss The Baby Sky」和「Wasurenaide」则是由有天和在中负责曲词。

All four of Dong Bang Shin Ki's Japanese single releases in 2008 shot to the top of the Oricon charts, setting a new Oricon record for #1 singles by overseas artists. Not slowing down their productivity, the quintet launches their first release of 2009, a triple A-sided single. The ballad Bolero is based on traditional Spanish dance rhythms and also the theme song for the new movie Subaru. As for the other two singles, Kiss The Baby Sky and Wasurenaide, they were both penned by members of the band.
